Dear Cycling Club,

I would like to offer you the opportunity to be involved in our 18th annual Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour.  As the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s largest locally organized and supported event in Wisconsin, Scenic Shore 150 is a unique opportunity for your club to show its support in the fight against blood cancers.

In July 2009, our 917 riders raised $560,000.  We were able to dedicate over 76 cents of every dollar, about $425,600 from Scenic Shore 2009, directly to our mission: To cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease and Myeloma and to improve the lives of patients and their families.  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has invested more than $688 million in leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma research.  Society-funded research has led to key advances in understanding blood cancers and the life-saving drugs that fight them.  LLS also provides a range of services such as family support groups, an extensive educational Web site, free seminars and conferences and direct patient financial aid.  Events like Scenic Shore 150 and others allow us to continue to offer our services at no cost to our patients.

This year our goal is 1000 riders.  The ride starts Saturday, July 24th in Mequon, WI and ends Sunday, July 25th in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

As this event continues to grow, so does our need for support from organizations like your own.  There are several ways in which your club can be involved this year including providing promotion of our event in your club, forming a club sponsored team, volunteering, monetary sponsorship, donation of raffle items, or other in-kind sponsorship donations.  I have attached our volunteer opportunity packet, team captain handbook and partnership form.  Please indicate how you would like to support the Scenic Shore 150 on the partnership form and return that to us.

Thank you for your time and consideration.  We look forward to speaking with you to further discuss our sponsorship opportunities and how your organization can become involved.  If you have any questions or would like more information about Scenic Shore 150, please feel free contact myself with the information listed below or Jen Jacobs, Campaign Manager.

Sincerely,

Sarah Souders
